Collective Arts Label Beer Illustration

A vibrant, abstract beer label illustration exploring time, movement, and dreamlike fluidity, designed to reflect Collective Arts’ creative, art-forward identity while standing out on the shelf.

Objective

To create a visually striking illustrated beer label for Collective Arts that captured the dreamy, abstract feeling of the beer’s name, Life in the Clouds.

The goal was to develop artwork that felt immersive and imaginative while aligning with the brand’s bold, creative positioning.

Process

The concept began with a question: What does time feel like in the clouds?

I explored the idea of time dissolving, becoming fluid, warped, and organic. Abstract clock forms were illustrated flowing through space, transforming into playful, surreal shapes. The intention was to create movement and rhythm across the label, guiding the viewer’s eye while maintaining balance.

Soft gradients, textured overlays, and high-contrast colour transitions were used to build depth and atmosphere. I used layered blending techniques that created a psychedelic effect without overwhelming the composition. The palette balances warm and cool tones to evoke both energy and calm, reinforcing the dreamy theme.

The final mock up extends the illustration beyond the can, placing it within a larger immersive scene to demonstrate how the artwork lives both on-shelf and in a branded environment.
